When will this work take place?
We’ll work overnight 9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday from 3 August 2026 to 21 September 2026.
To complete our work safely, we’ll close the M6 eastbound arm to the M1 as follows:
- Monday 3 August to Friday 14 August 2026 – full overnight closures and daytime lane closures
- Monday 17 August and Tuesday 18 August 2026– full overnight closures
- Wednesday 19 August to Monday 21 September 2026 – full overnight closures and daytime lane closures.
- Works will pause on Tuesday 25 August and from Thursday 27 August to Monday 31 August 2026.

Where it is safe to do so, access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained in emergency situations.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
